William Hill adds new Lake Tahoe resort to US sportsbook operations25th September 2014 7:00 am GMT
The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino at Lake Tahoe has announced that UK bookmaker William Hill will soon be operating the new resort’s sportsbook.
A dedicated venue at the resort, the William Hill Sports Book, will have an HD video wall with in-play wagering lines, 40 TVs airing the day’s sports events, a self-service kiosk, and access to William Hill’s mobile betting app in Nevada.
Dan Marrandino, chief operating officer at Hard Rock Lake Tahoe, said: “Teaming with a world-wide market leader like William Hill guarantees our Hard Rock Hotel & Casino guests have premium race and sports wagering at their fingertips, including mobile betting.
“When we open, sports fans can expect nothing less than the ultimate sports wagering available in the most luxurious setting in Lake Tahoe.”
The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino becomes the latest addition to William Hill’s operations in the US which now includes over 100 race and sportsbooks in Nevada.
The $60m venue will be a fully integrated gaming resort offering over 500 slot machines and a wide variety of table games. The facility will include a 539-room Hard Rock Hotel, a 25,000 plus square foot casino, a retail store, multiple restaurants and bars, the largest outdoor pool experience in South Lake Tahoe, and an assortment of live-entertainment both indoors and out.
Design and development plans for the project are underway and the property is expected to open during the upcoming ski season.
William Hill US CEO Joe Asher said the company was “delighted to partner with the iconic Hard Rock brand, Warner Hospitality and the Park family on this exciting project in Lake Tahoe.

Shares in William Hill plc (Co. Data) (LSE: WMH) were up 2.44 per cent to 373.20 pence in London in trading Thursday morning.
