Dutch betting monopoly operator De Lotto has entered into a two year sponsorship agreement with the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB), building on the company's existing partnership with the Dutch FA which rewards amateur football clubs whose members bet via Toto.nl.
De Lotto said the new sponsorship agreement, which will run through to the end of the 2010/2011 season, demonstrates Toto's commitment not only to amateur football, but to Dutch football as a whole.
Toto already supports amateur football in the country with a system which is effectively an affiliate program. Toto pays a bonus of €4.50 to an amateur football club for each member which signs up at their online betting site, plus a further 10% cash-back to each club based on their total stakes.
"I am very proud that we can show by means of this sponsorship agreement that Toto and football are indivisibly linked," said Frank Bijman, Commercial Manager of De Lotto. "Toto is emotion; emotion is football. We hope to promote this message even more by our presence during the KNVB cup matches."
Jean-Paul Decossaux, Commercial Manager of the KNVB, added: "With this agreement, Toto again demonstrates its commitment to support and further develop football in the Netherlands."
No details were immediately available as to the value of the sponsorship agreement.
