GTECH Secures Tenth Lottery Contract Extension in 2009

23rd December 2009 8:30 am GMT

Lottomatica Group's wholly owned subsidiary GTECH Corporation has signed a three-year extension to provide additional lottery terminals and software services to Argentina's Instituto Provincial De Loterias Y Casinos of the Province of Buenos Aires (IPLC), representing the company's tenth lottery contract extension of 2009.

GTECH's contract extension relates to its deal with Boldt Gaming SA, who in turn provides lottery products and services to the IPLC. The contract will run through November 2012.

Under the terms of the extension, GTECH will provide approximately 2,250 IMAGINE online lottery terminals, adding to IPLC's existing base of 4,000 GTECH-provided terminals.

"GTECH is committed to its customers. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Boldt Gaming, which began more than 15 years ago," said GTECH President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel. "We have a cohesive plan in place to assist IPLC in expanding their retailer base to more than 6,000 locations with the deployment of 2,250 new IMAGINE lottery terminals over the next three years."

In addition to offering software support services over the three-year period, GTECH will also provide its IP-based ES Connect software, a highly-secure, high-volume, open standards network interface that connects a lottery's transaction processing engine to a multitude of sales channels and devices.

"Today's announcement also represents the 10th lottery customer to extend its contract with GTECH this year. This is a strong endorsement of GTECH's focus on strengthening customer relationships through superior service delivery and attention to customer priorities," continued Patel.
