Canadian lottery supplier Pollard Banknote has been provisionally selected as the new lottery platform provider for Belgium’s Loterie Nationale.
Following a competitive procurement process, the lottery has formally communicated its notice of intent to award a long-term contract to Pollard Banknote for a full end-to-end solution supporting both retail and iLottery channels.
Key components include a central gaming system for draw-based games, management of eInstant games, player engagement technology, as well as an instant ticket management system for warehousing and distribution.
Pollard Banknote’s bid was determined to be the “most economically advantageous”, with the 12-year contract having an estimated value of €177 million.
The formal award of the contract is subject to a mandatory 15-day standstill period pursuant to Belgian procurement law.
“We are honoured that Loterie Nationale has entrusted us with this opportunity and excited to expand our long-standing instant ticket supply relationship with them into the digital realm,” said Pollard Banknote co-CEO Doug Pollard.
Brightstar Lottery (formerly IGT) has been powering the lottery’s central systems technology for the past 30 years.
Shares in Pollard Banknote Ltd (TSE:PBL) closed 1.82 per cent lower at CA$21.57 per share in Toronto Friday.
