Pollard Banknote has been selected as the primary contractor for scratchcard products and related services by the California Lottery.
The initial six-year contract is expected to commence on December 1, 2025, and includes an extension option for a further six years.
As the primary contractor, Pollard Banknote expects to provide approximately 70 per cent of the California Lottery’s scratchers over the life of the contract.
In addition to supplying games, Pollard Banknote will also provide the state lottery with sales-driving retail initiatives and portfolio-wide optimisation to support the lottery’s growth.
Pollard Banknote has worked with the California Lottery for the past 25 years as a secondary supplier, providing instant tickets and related marketing services.
The California Lottery was established in 1985 to provide supplemental funding to California’s public schools, colleges, and universities. Since its inception, the state lottery has contributed over $46 billion to education throughout the state.
“We are extremely excited to expand our relationship with one of the largest and most successful lotteries in the world,” said Pollard Banknote co-CEO Doug Pollard. “This expansion into the role of primary contractor marks an exciting new chapter in a decades-long partnership that has delivered a range of innovative and groundbreaking instant ticket experiences to raise funds for public education.
“As the Lottery celebrates its milestone 40th anniversary, we are thrilled to deepen our collaboration and look forward to many more years of shared success providing fun and engaging entertainment to Californians.”
