Stockholm-listed performance marketing specialist Catena Media has moved to strengthen its position in the sports betting sector with the acquisition of football news website and daily fantasy sports (DFS) operator Squawka.
Catena has acquired UK-based Squawka.com and its related assets for a one-time upfront payment of £1m in cash.
The main Squawka site currently attracts approximately 4m users per month and has around 800,000 followers on Twitter. It is also currently beta testing a new Matchboss.com DFS offering.
