The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has reported record wagering at this year’s Super Bowl with $185.6 million bet across Nevada’s 182 sportsbooks.
Total wagers increased by 21 per cent compared to last year, as the Kansas City Chiefs triumphed over the San Francisco 49ers in the first Super Bowl to take place in Las Vegas.
Sportsbooks won $6.8 million on the game, up from $4.4 million a year ago, resulting in a hold percentage of 3.7 per cent.
The record performance surpassed Nevada’s previous wagering high in 2022, which saw $179.8 million wagered.
“The Nevada Gaming Control Board congratulates and thanks all the stakeholders involved for successfully delivering such a spectacular event from the state of Nevada,” said NGCB chairman Kirk Hendrick.
In comparison, Flutter Entertainment-owned FanDuel generated $307 million in wagers from the Super Bowl, with 14 million bets taken across its US operations, marking the operator’s biggest ever wagering event.
