Michigan’s gambling regulator has ordered Comoros Island-licensed BetNow.eu to withdraw its services from the state.

The order from the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) to BetNow.eu Sportsbook, Casino, and Racebook gives the company 14 days in which to withdraw its services from the Wolverine State or face the prospect of legal action.

This follows an MGCB investigation which found that BetNow provides a range of online betting and casino games to players in Michigan without a local licence, as well as the option to make deposits and withdrawals using a wide range of payment methods, including debit and credit cards and cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum.

“This unlicensed operator not only violates Michigan law, but also exposes consumers to significant risks,” said Henry Williams, executive director at the MGCB. “Our job is to protect Michigan residents by ensuring that all online gambling is conducted legally and responsibly.”

The regulator warned that if BetNow.eu fails to comply with the MGCB cease-and-desist order within 14 days of receiving the letter, it will work with the Michigan Attorney General’s Office to bring further legal action against the company.
