SuperBook Sports has confirmed the closure of its online sportsbook operations across eight US states, while Betfred is set to exit its second US state in the past month.

SuperBook is no longer accepting wagers, deposits or new accounts in Colorado, New Jersey, Arizona, Tennessee, Ohio, Iowa, Maryland and Virginia.

SuperBook will maintain its operations in Nevada however, with players able to continue to access the Westgate SuperBook mobile app and the company’s retail sportsbook at the Westgate Las Vegas.

SuperBook Sports began operating in 1986 in Las Vegas and expanded into mobile sports betting in Colorado in 2020, where the company also operates The SuperBook at The Lodge Casino in Black Hawk.

The operator continued its mobile sportsbook expansion with launches in New Jersey, Arizona, Tennessee, Iowa, Ohio, Maryland, and most recently in Virginia in October 2023.

Rival operator Betfred has also confirmed that it will cease online operations in Ohio at the end of August, with the last day of wagering set to be 14 August. This follows Betfred’s recent exit from Maryland’s online and retail sports betting market.

Betfred continues to operate in Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Louisiana, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington.

Earlier this month Betway-owner Super Group confirmed plans to exit nine US states, while Meruelo Gaming’s SaharaBets Sportsbook shut down operations in Arizona.
