UK National Lottery operator Camelot will add ten extra numbers to its Lotto and HotPicks draws from October, significantly reducing the chance of hitting the jackpot, although the overall odds of winning a prize will improve due to the introduction of new prize levels.

From October players of Lotto and HotPicks will have to choose six numbers out of 59, versus the current 6/49, which will see the odds of winning the jackpot widen from around 1 in 13 million to 1 in 45 million.
