Sporting Index has lauded the “unprecedented” levels of interest during the record-breaking London Olympics, with the spread betting firm receiving nine times as many bets as at Beijing in 2008.
Sporting Index said that 70 per cent of its customers who had been actively betting with them over the past three weeks had at least one bet on the Olympics, with one in three clients placing bets via hand-held devices.
