Superbet has agreed its third football sponsorship deal in Brazil after penning a new shirt sponsorship agreement with Rio de Janiero-based América Football Club.
The agreement will see the operator’s branding feature on the front of the club’s shirt for Series A2 of the State Championship.
Founded in 1904, América is one of Brazil’s oldest football clubs, with the new deal highlighting the return of América’s most famous player, Romario, who is currently club president and has come out of retirement to play for his boyhood club alongside his son at the age of 58.
“We want to develop the entire football ecosystem. The partnership with America is the possibility of promoting the growth of a traditional club in order to create better structures and more entertainment for the sport,” said Alexandre Fonseca, CEO of Superbet Brasil.
Romario added: “We are very happy with this partnership, as we want to climb higher and higher in the competitions. The colors of America and Superbet are now mixed to achieve great results.”
This is Superbet’s third sponsorship deal in Brazil since the Bucharest-headquartered operator entered the market.
The first of these deals came at the start of this year when the operator became the official sponsor of one of Brazil’s most popular football clubs, São Paulo FC.
This was followed by a sponsorship deal with Fluminense FC last month.
