Playtech has agreed a new deal with Sony Pictures Television to bring live dealer games based on TV quiz show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? to the North American iGaming market.

Playtech previously announced a five-year partnership with Sony Pictures Television to work together to develop three games based on the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? brand into the Playtech Live portfolio.

This has seen the launch of Live Roulette and Live Trivia dedicated Millionaire branded games, with Playtech recently introducing a new Video Poker Live game, inspired by the popular TV quiz show.

The new two-year extension to its exclusive agreement with Sony Pictures Television will see the collaboration expand into more territories, including the US, Mexico, and Canada.

“Collaborating with Sony Pictures Television has been a tremendous opportunity for us,” said Playtech Live chief commercial officer Sasha Uman. “It showcases our commitment to securing top iconic brands in the game show and entertainment industry, and our dedication to offering high-quality and innovative gaming options to the audience. It has allowed us to bring a diverse range of interactive games including Live Roulette, Live Trivia, and the latest addition, Video Poker Live inspired by the beloved Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? brand.

“Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? has been a global favourite for many years, and we are thrilled to be able to bring the excitement of this iconic game show to players worldwide, especially to our North American audience.”

Shares in Playtech plc (LSE:PTEC) were trading at 466.60 pence per share in London earlier Thursday.
