Scientific Games Corporation has been awarded a seven-year deal to provide instant games for the state-controlled Lotto New Zealand, while the company has also signed a new agreement to continue as the exclusive provider of instant games and related services for the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation.

The New Zealand Lotteries Commission granted Scientific Games a seven-year deal, including a one-year extension option, to provide instant games for Lotto New Zealand.

Scientific Games will work with Lotto New Zealand to grow sales of the lottery's instant game portfolio, and will also provide the lottery with marketing support and creative services.

“We look forward to continuing our nearly 30-year relationship with Scientific Games to develop innovative products for New Zealand players,” said Wayne Pickup, CEO of Lotto New Zealand. “We are focused on growing instant game sales and funding for our communities by taking our instant games to the next level with the vibrant new designs, foils, proprietary play styles and licensed brands offered by Scientific Games."

John Schulz, Scientific Games’ senior vice president, Instant Products, said: “Our agreement with Lotto New Zealand is one of the first of its kind in the Australasia region and we truly share their excitement for the potential of the instant product category in New Zealand.

“Using the industry's most advanced instant game design and manufacturing technology, marketing insights - including Scientific Games' unique 15 Determinants of Demand - and more than 40 years of global best practices for instant games, we are confident that our collaboration with Lotto New Zealand will result in great success.”

In its 2014 fiscal year, Lotto New Zealand generated total sales of NZ$988.8m, including $150.9m in instant game product sales.

Scientific Games also signed a new contract this week to continue as the exclusive provider of instant games and related services for the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation.

The company will provide the lottery with an instant game portfolio as well as an integrated Cooperative Services Program (CSP) which includes instant game production, product management support, game management systems, warehousing and distribution, and a wide range of related services such as interactive content and marketing research.

The new contract, which was awarded through a competitive procurement process, continues the successful relationship Scientific Games and the lottery have shared since 2003.  The contract will begin on January 1st with an initial term of seven years plus seven one-year extension options.

“The success of our instant product category with consumers in Tennessee has been integral to the more than $3 billion we have raised for education programs in Tennessee since the Lottery began 10 years ago,” said Rebecca Hargrove, president & CEO of the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation. “We look forward to continuing our team effort with Scientific Games and our more than 5,000 retailers to offer entertainment value to consumers in Tennessee through a superior instant game portfolio.”

Schulz added: “Our selection as the primary instant game provider for the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation ensures the continuation of the game design, technology innovation, and instant category management services that have delivered 10 consecutive years of instant product growth for the lottery.”

The Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation generated more than $1.36bn in total retail sales in fiscal year 2013, which included $1.08bn in instant game products.
