Denmark’s state-controlled gaming operator Danske Spil has seen its profit for the first half of 2012 climb by 33 per cent following the re-regulation of the Danish online gaming market in January of this year.

The company said Friday that turnover in the six month period ended June 30th 2012 climbed to DKK9.2bn (€1.23bn) from DKK3.88bn (€520.6m) a year ago, following the expansion of legalised gaming earlier this year to include online sports betting, poker and casino games.
