New York-based mobile lottery provider Jackpocket has appointed Carter Vance as the company’s first general counsel.
Vance joins the company from Kentucky-based Churchill Downs Incorporated, where he served for nearly six years, most recently as vice president and associate general counsel.
Vance will oversee legal affairs and work closely with vice president of external affairs Andrew Fries to navigate the regulatory environment around lottery services, which differs across state lines.
