NYX Gaming Group has been formally selected as the iGaming platform provider for Nederlandse Loterij, the new entity formed through the merger of De Lotto and Nederlandse Staatsloterij in 2016.

The partnership between NYX and Staatsloterij was first announced in March 2016, when NYX signed a letter of intent to supply gaming systems and content to the lottery operator, ahead of the completion of the merger.

In a statement released Monday, NYX said that it has signed a new long-term partnership with the lottery following the migration of its customer databases to NYX's Open Platform System (OPS).

"It is a privilege to be working with Nederlandse Loterij, who are a key player on the world lottery stage," NYX chief executive Matt Davey said. "The team has been a pleasure to work with and we look forward to developing our partnership over the coming months."

Under the terms of the deal the OPS will be used as the lottery's player management system, managing all lottery and sports betting products across Nederlandse Loterij's digital and retail channels.

NYX will also provide the lottery with its Open Gaming System (OGS), together with full support and maintenance including hosting via its Paris-based datacentre.

"At every stage of our collaboration, NYX has lived up to its reputation as a world-leading gaming content and platform provider," Nederlandse Loterij COO Joost den Heijer commented. "Moving to its OPS and a single player database has been highly beneficial to Nederlandse Loterij and we look forward to many more years of success together."

Shares in NYX Gaming Group plc (Co.Data) (TSX:NYX) closed down 1.74 per cent at CAD$1.13 per share in Toronto Friday.
