Sports betting solutions provider Playtech BGT Sports (PBS) has expanded its football betting offering for bookmakers ahead of the start of the new European football season next month.

The company has added improved couple building options to its self-service betting terminals (SSBT) with the launch of a new goalscorer coupon and the introduction of Asian handicap betting for the first time.

The goalscorer coupon highlights a list of likely scorers across multiple popular matches and has been introduced in response to research which found that anytime scorer betting is now far more popular that first scorer bets.

The new Asian handicap offering allows customers to take advantage of more flexible and competitive two-way total goal and handicap lines across major football leagues.

“High street bookies are facing their fair share of challenges, but the progress and increased profitability of SSBTs has been very positive, as they are successfully providing the choice and ease-of-use that today’s customers demand,” said John Pettit, Playtech BGT Sports UK, Ireland, Asia and Australia managing director.

“Our SSBTs help our operator partners drive incremental revenues and we’re confident that our enhanced product range, new coupons, and greater functionality will help that further.”

PBS will present its most diverse football offering this season, with pre-match and in-play betting available across close to 1,000 competitions in more than 120 countries. In-play customers will also see an improved service, with a greater range of matches available across hundreds of recently-installed terminals in the UK.
