Figures released by the Office of National Statistics this week show that the gambling industry in the United Kingdom paid almost £3bn in duty during the financial year ended March 31st.
Across betting, gaming and lottery, operators made £2.99bn in duty payments to HM Revenue & Customs during the year, with Lottery Duty and Machine Games Duty accounting for more than half of all receipts.
