Senator Ray Lesniak yesterday revealed the full details of a bill that will allow New Jersey’s iGaming operators to take internet gaming transactions, including sports bets, from other jurisdictions around the world.

Lesniak said he has a legal opinion and an off the record opinion from the Department of Justice that taking bets from outside the US does not encroach on their jurisdiction.

“This will show how unreasonable, irresponsible and ridiculous the federal ban [on sports betting] is,” said Lesniak. “We will be able to take sports bets from anywhere in the world except the US.”
