Chile’s Chamber of Deputies has voted in favour of a bill to legalise and regulate online gambling for the first time.
The online betting bill was introduced by the previous administration in Chile and was approved by the lower house of the National Congress on Tuesday 12 December.
The legislation will regulate online betting by creating a competitive market with multiple licensees under the authority of the Superintendence of Casinos, Betting and Gambling.
