FOX Bet named authorized gaming operator of the XFL

10th February 2020 11:36 am GMT

FOX Bet, the US joint venture between FOX Sports and The Stars Group, has been named as an authorized gaming operator of the XFL American football league.

The agreement gives FOX Bet access to official XFL data, as well as league and team branding for use across its sports betting app and its FOX Sports Super 6 free-to-play game. It follows similar deals signed by the XFL last week with DraftKings and FanDuel.

“We are thrilled to be an authorized gaming operator of the XFL and part of all the excitement surrounding the league's kickoff this February,” said FOX Bet chief executive Robin Chhabra. “Just as they are reimagining the game of football in America, we at FOX Bet are reimagining the sports experience for fans across the country."

As part of the agreement, FOX Bet will create a special FOX Sports free-to-play Super 6 game for each week of the XFL's 10-week regular season, as well as its post-season semi-finals and Championship game. This will be promoted to its database of over 1m customers each week, offering guaranteed cash prizes.

"FOX Bet is a leader in mobile sports wagering, and we're proud to partner with such an important player in the sports betting community," said XFL president and chief operating officer Jeffrey Pollack.

“We want what our fans want and legal sports betting is an important part of the fan experience that will allow them to connect more strongly with the XFL.”

The XFL season opened over the weekend with the New York Guardians beating the Tampa Bay Vipers 23-3.

Shares in The Stars Group Inc (TSX:TSGI) closed down 0.68 per cent at CAD$30.81 per share in Toronto Friday.
