The Western Australia government has announced a historic reform package to provide long-term sustainability for the state’s racing industry, which will include the sale of the state-owned betting operator WA TAB.
The government has engaged constructively with key stakeholders before making its decision to proceed with the sale of the TAB, including hosting metropolitan and regional forums and receiving 107 written submissions in response to a discussion paper released in June.
