Casino operator MGM Resorts International said Tuesday that it expects to follow rival Caesars in launching a real-money online poker operation in Nevada, but admitted that its primary focus has been with working with the state on its efforts to sign compact agreements with other US states.

MGM was approved as an interactive gaming operator last November by the Nevada Gaming Commission, and has since been granted an extension to the deadline by which it must begin interactive gaming operations. The extension expires in October.
