A standstill period has been agreed between the UK Tote and britbet, the horse racing pool betting project set up by 55 racecourses, in order to determine whether British Racing will be best served by the pool betting alliance.

Britbet was due to launch on July 12th following the end of the Tote’s exclusive right to offer horse racing pools in the UK. This has now been postponed due to the standstill agreement, which runs until October 31st at the latest.

The agreement calls for “substantive and good faith” discussions, analysis of business plans and due diligence.
