Resorts World NYC takes immediate lead in New York

Resorts World New York City has taken an immediate lead in New York’s commercial casino sector in the first few weeks since it opened at the end of April.

In its opening week to 3 May, Resorts World NYC took revenue of $27.2 million, making it easily the market leader with 66 per cent of the weekly total.

By its third week, Resorts World NYC had a 69 per cent share and revenue of $28.5 million.

The casino has almost 2,500 slot machines installed and its average daily win per unit was $1,206 in the third week.

Prior to Resorts World NYC’s opening, New York’s other commercial casinos were taking $290 per machine per day.

Ontario

Ontario’s iGaming revenue rose by 29 per cent to C$405.4 million in April, as sports betting had the strongest growth of 33 per cent to C$86.0 million. Online casino remained the largest product as revenue grew 29 per cent to C$314.1 million, offsetting a 10 per cent drop in poker revenue to C$5.3 million. Total wagering across all sectors increased by 20 per cent to C$9.32 billion, with all of the growth from online casino.

New York

South of the border, New York’s four commercial casinos posted 4 per cent gaming revenue growth in April to $59.2 million. Slot machine revenue rose 6 per cent to $45.0 million, while table gaming revenue fell by 6 per cent to $12.9 million and poker revenue was 3 per cent lower at $853,841. Monthly sports betting revenue was $535,082, up from a loss of $88,620 in April 2025. The state’s fifth commercial casino, Resorts World New York City, opened on 28 April but no revenue is included for the month.

Arkansas

Arkansas’ three land-based casinos saw combined gambling revenue decline by 1 per cent to $58.5 million, including a loss of $0.6 million from sports betting. Revenue from slot machines was $53.5 million and $5.6 million from table games. Sports wagers more than doubled to a record $103.9 million, as the state’s sector has been altered by FanDuel and DraftKings. 

Michigan

Online sports betting and iGaming revenue in Michigan topped $370 million in April, rising by 28 per cent to $371.0 million. Monthly iGaming revenue was up by 22 per cent to $303.4 million, while online sports betting revenue rose 59 per cent to $67.6 million, as online sports wagers climbed 10 per cent to $460.8 million, giving a gross margin of 14.7 per cent. FanDuel was the leading brand on combined revenue of $97.2 million, ahead of BetMGM on $78.6 million.

New Hampshire

The New Hampshire Lottery reported a 6 per cent year increase in sports wagers for April to $72.6 million. Mobile betting grew by 8 per cent to $68.4 million but the smaller retail sector fell by 23 per cent to $4.2 million. Revenue from sports betting outperformed wagering growth and was up by 21 per cent to $9.3 million, comprising $8.7 million from mobile (+22 per cent) and $626,053 from retail (+14 per cent).

Louisiana

Louisiana’s land-based and riverboat casinos reported their best revenue growth in six months during April, up by 13 per cent to $196.2 million. L’Auberge Lake Charles claimed top spot by revenue on $29.2 million, ahead of Caesars New Orleans’ $27.5 million and Golden Nugget Lake Charles’s $25.4 million. Admissions to all 16 casinos in the state rose by 9 per cent to 1.64 million.

Nebraska

Gaming revenue in Nebraska’s five land-based casinos rose by 28 per cent in April to $27.1 million, including retail sports betting. Slot machines were the largest sector with revenue of $24.1 million, followed by gaming tables on $2.2 million. Sports betting in climbed by 53 per cent to $760,270 but it was the lowest since September.

Wyoming

Sports wagering in Wyoming showed 8 per cent growth in April to $17.1 million but was still the state’s lowest monthly total since August 2025. DraftKings held more than half of the total as wagers rose 10 per cent to $9.0 million, while FanDuel’s wagers grew 22 per cent to $4.3 million. Monthly gross revenue grew by 3 per cent to $1.9 million.

Maine

In Maine, sports wagers showed no year-on-year growth in April at $46.6 million, split $45.8 million from online betting and $718,413 from retail. DraftKings took online wagers of $36.3 million, a fall of 5 per cent, and Caesars’ wagers rose 19 per cent to $9.5 million. The monthly win margin fell slightly to 12.1 per cent, meaning that the state’s betting revenue was down by 5 per cent to $5.6 million. 

Kansas

Kansas’ sports wagers dropped by 14 per cent in April to $180.2 million, as online sports betting fell by 13 per cent to $177.7 million and retail betting was down by 41 per cent to $2.5 million. DraftKings was the leading brand on wagers of $69.7 million, ahead of FanDuel’s $54.0 million and Fanatics’ $17.0 million. Monthly gross win climbed 1 per cent to $20.6 million, split $20.2 million from online and $326,650 from retail.

Tennessee

Sports wagers in Tennessee rose by 4 per cent to $484.6 million in April, which was the state’s best April total since launch. Adjusted wagers $480.8 million and gave betting tax in the state of $8.9 million.

Illinois

Back into March, sports wagers in Illinois declined by 7 per cent to $1.39 billion. DraftKings was the leading brand on wagers of $484.5 million, way ahead of FanDuel’s $381.5 million. Monthly adjusted gross revenue (AGR) increased by 35 per cent to $129.2 million. In the first quarter of 2026, wagers fell by 3 per cent to $3.99 billion and comprised $3.91 billion in online betting and $82.3 million from retail.

Genting Malaysia reported a 10 per cent increase in group revenue to RM2,866.9 million (approx. €621.6 million) for the first quarter of 2026, with revenue from the US and Bahamas segment rising 39 per cent to RM694.4 million.

Bally’s Intralot posted a profit after tax of €7.0 million for the first quarter, benefiting from the full consolidation of Bally’s International Interactive (BII) business.

Acroud reported an 18 per cent increase in revenue to €11.6 million for the first quarter, helping to reduce its loss for the period.

Caesars Entertainment has entered into an agreement to be acquired by Fertitta Entertainment in an all-cash transaction valued at $17.6 billion, including the assumption of $11.9 billion of outstanding debt.
