Recruiter for Aussie rules team banned for betting on AFL matches

The Greater Western Sydney Giants, the Australian rules football club, has confirmed that its recruiting assistant has resigned after breaching Australian Football League (AFL) rules in relation to betting on matches.

It follows an investigation by the AFL Competition Integrity Department into a matter involving a bet placed in contravention of AFL rules by the Giants’ recruiting assistant Paul Brodie.
