The Horserace Betting Levy Board (HBLB) and the Bookmakers’ Committee have managed to avoid intervention from the UK government in agreeing to the terms of the 51st Levy Scheme, which is estimated to yield £72.4m from next April.
Payable from next April, the 51st Levy includes contributions of not less than £45m from the three largest UK bookmakers alone – William Hill, Ladbrokes and Gala Coral – and an additional £6.5m from online betting exchange Betfair.
