The regulated French online gambling market generated stakes of €9.4bn in 2012, an increase of 1 per cent versus the previous year, despite a 7 per cent fall in customer deposits and 13 fewer active operators.

According to figures released by regulatory authority ARJEL Monday, online sports betting stakes increased by 19 per cent versus 2011 to €705m, with Euro 2012 and the London Olympics both contributing to the year-on-year growth.
