The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has proposed extending the ban on gambling advertisements around TV sports broadcasts to also include online streaming, in order to create a 'safe zone' for young viewers.
A ban on gambling advertising during live sports broadcast on TV between 5am and 8.30pm came into force in May, and the ACMA is now looking to introduce similar controls for new media platforms.
