HM Revenue and Customs has launched a consultation on the proposal to extend Britain's Remote Gaming Duty to promotional Freeplays in online gaming.
The proposal aims to end the current imbalance in the treatment of Freeplays, where remote gambling operators benefit from a more generous tax treatment compared to other free bets, such as retail sports betting and horse racing.
