Lawmakers in Australia have approved legislation to ban online poker and casino games and in-play betting on sporting events.
The Interactive Gambling Amendment Bill 2016 was approved by the Senate Monday, having been introduced in November 2016 in response to a report into illegal iGaming by former New South Wales Premier Barry O'Farrell.
That report highlighted a number of areas of concern that have now been addressed in the amendment bill.
