Satellite Information Services (SIS) has rehired Brent Dolan, with the sports broadcaster and data supplier’s former operations director now serving as head of horse racing content.
Dolan has already spent 26 years working for SIS, launching innovations such as virtual gaming, the company’s dedicated greyhound racing channel, and its Virtual Betting Channel.
He rejoins the company in the newly-created role of head of horse racing, looking to leverage SIS' horse racing content and rights to create new, innovative products.
Having joined SIS when it was formed in 1987, he served as operations director, commercial director and racing programme controller before leaving to join Totepool. There he served as director of racecourse operations, before returning to the company with which he has spent most of his career.
He has joined on an initial six-month contract, and said he was excited to take on a new challenge.
“I’ve seen SIS go from a newly-formed company to the betting and racing industry’s foremost data and pictures provider,” Dolan said. “It is now forging an exciting new phase of digital innovation and international expansion. I can’t wait to get started.
“However, it’s important that SIS also remains faithful to its core products,” he explained. “In my role, I’ll ensure we build on the heart of horseracing while continuing to grow our product and innovation offering.”
SIS commercial director Paul Witten added: “Brent’s experience, expertise, and racing knowledge have already proved a real positive for SIS down the years, and we’re pleased to welcome him back into the fold. He’ll ensure that our racing products continue to get even better.”
