Brazil President Dilma Rousseff has vetoed legislation which would have potentially opened up the Brazilian sports betting market to private operators, while at the same time approving measures that criminalise play via unlicensed gaming operators.
The legislation, MP6712015, was part of a broader bill to make the struggling football industry more transparent and financially stable, and was approved by the Brazilian Senate last month.
