FIFA to fund €20m Interpol anti-corruption programme

Football’s world governing body FIFA and Interpol have announced the formation of a dedicated FIFA Anti-Corruption Training Wing within Interpol that will target illegal and irregular betting and match-fixing.

The ten year programme will see FIFA provide €4m to Interpol in each of the first two years, followed by €1.5m in the each of the subsequent eight years, making it the largest grant ever received by Interpol from a private institution.
