Stockholm-listed gaming operator LeoVegas plans to increase its support for innovative gaming start-ups through its Independent Mobile Productions (IMP) subsidiary, which will be rebranded as LeoVentures.
LeoVentures will be led by LeoVegas co-founder Robin Ramm-Ericson, who is stepping down from the operator's executive management team to become managing director of the newly-rebranded division, although he will remain a member of the LeoVegas Group senior executive team.
"The LeoVegas Mobile Gaming Group strives to be the most innovative, entrepreneurial and fastest growing company in our industry," LeoVegas chief executive Gustaf Hagman explained. "To strengthen this momentum, we give increased focus to our venture business IMP […]"
Through IMP the operator has already invested in live casino software supplier Authentic Gaming, card games developer 21 Heads-Up, and affiliate site LiveCasino.com.
It will now look to take advantage of "strategically important opportunities" under the LeoVentures banner, funding entrepreneurs offering new ideas or solutions, as well as external companies that can be scaled up with LeoVentures' help.
