Dan Tan Seet Eng, the alleged football match-fixing mastermind also known as Dan Tan, has been released by Singapore’s Court of Appeal after being held under indefinite detention for the past two years.

Tan was named in 2011 as one of the most prolific match-fixers in the world and believed to be the kingpin behind the large-scale corruption of football matches and the associated manipulation of betting markets between 2008 and 2011, notably in Asia where betting is often unregulated.
