When Relax Gaming named Daniel Eskola as its next chief executive it marked the latest coup for a supplier that has quietly emerged as one of the fast-growing of the new generation of iGaming suppliers.

The firm, which proudly traces its origins back to a 2010 meeting in a Maltese pub between founders Patrik Österåker and Jani Tekoniemi, was best known for a long time as the provider of Kindred Group’s poker software.

But in recent months, it has signed a number of casino deals with top-tier operators including Betsson, Jackpotjoy and LeoVegas.

It has also strengthened its management team, persuading ex-NetEnt chief product officer Simon Hammon to join in the same role, and bringing in ex-Mr Green head of casino Andrew Crosby as head of account management.

But perhaps its most notable move has been the appointment of Daniel Eskola as CEO, replacing Relax’s co-founder Patrik Österåker, who will become chairman of the board. Eskola assumes the role on April 1st.
