The Kenyan government has amended the country's Betting, Lotteries and Gaming Act to more evenly distribute gambling tax liability between operators and winning players.
Kenya's 35 per cent tax on gross gaming revenue was adopted in June 2017 despite vocal opposition from the country's licensed operators, who argued that the increase from the previous tax range of five to 15 per cent would decimate their business and reduce funding for sports.
