Vancouver-based Global Daily Fantasy Sports has appointed James Penturn as its new chairman.
With over 30 years’ experience in merchant banking, property and strategic advisory services, Penturn has held senior executive level positions and corporate directorships in both private and public companies.
He joins Global Daily Fantasy Sports following its recent integration with NYX Gaming’s Open Gaming System (OGS), which enables the B2B provider to make its debut in the European market.
Global Daily Fantasy Sports chief executive Darcy Krogh said he was delighted to welcome Penturn as chairman of the board.
“Jim endorses our vision and his expertise and experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and strategic thinking will be a valuable asset as we build out our B2B strategy in regulated markets,” he said.
Commenting on his appointment Penturn said: “I have known and respected Darcy for many years and I am pleased at this opportunity to work together and build Global into the premier Daily Fantasy Sports software solution focused on Europe.”
