The Superior Court of Quebec has sided with the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA) in its challenge of the province's legal provision that requires internet service providers to block access to unauthorised online gambling websites.

The case dates back to November 2015 when lawmakers passed legislation that contained language enabling Loto Québec to compile a blacklist of unlicensed online gaming operators, which ISPs would be required to block access to under threat of a fine for non-compliance.
