The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office in Pennsylvania named sixteen individuals Wednesday in a 23-count illegal sports betting indictment.
The defendants, known collectively as the Mastronardo Bookmaking Organization, are charged with operating a multi-million dollar illegal bookmaking business throughout the United States, using Costa Rica-based websites and telephone numbers that allowed customers to place bets on sporting events including football, baseball and basketball.
