The executive branch of Uruguay’s government has submitted a bill to the country’s General Assembly designed to amend gambling legislation and crack down on illegal operators.
The key goal of the new bill is to safeguard the state monopoly on betting and gaming, covering casinos, horse racing betting, lotteries and football pools, across all channels, including online and telephone betting.
