Imperus Technologies is set to acquire Spanish-language social gaming studio Akamon Entertainment Millennium as part of its strategy to shift focus away from its real-money gaming products, claiming that the deal will see it join Caesars' Playtika and IGT's DoubleDown as a top-tier operator in the social casino sector.

The deal will be Imperus’ second social casino acquisition after February’s $100m purchase of Diwip, with the company entering into a binding option agreement to acquire Akamon for US$25.6m, payable in cash and securities.

Imperus has been set a deadline of September 25th to exercise this option, with the deal to close on or before October 2nd.
